The Photon series is our flagship line of lights, and the second generation of the Photons brings many of the features our customers have requested from us since the release of the widely popular Photon Series. The Photon V2+ breaks away from the ugly “Black Boxes” of the past, bringing a beautiful slim profile and high end hardware at an affordable price.
The Photon V2+ uses 5 watt Cree XT-Es, and 3 watt Cree, Semi, and Osram diodes, bringing the Photon V2+ up to date with the latest in LED technology. There are also 6 dimming channels, so you can have precise control over every color.
What’s NEW with the V2 +?
The Photon V2+ brings an upgraded controller to the Photon V2s. The new controller is very similar in how it is programmed- you enter the intensity you would like for each hour during the daylight and night time cycle. However the V2+ Controller takes those one hour steps, and automatically splits each hour into 10 small ramping increments. That means smoother ramping and more realistic transitions between night and day. Upgrade kits are available at a reasonable cost for current V2s.
Our layout is based on years of reef keeping, research, and consulting with experts and renowned hobbyists on the subject of LED lighting and your corals. We target both chlorophyll and the accessory proteins in coral tissues which aide in growth and color. Just ask one of our customers- our layout is one of the best around and has been for years!
Each light is now made with a slim, 100% extruded aluminum case which will not rust in a marine environment and is built to last, unlike the steel cases the black box lights use. Each light includes adjustable tank mounting legs as well as the standard hanging set. Alternatively, you can use the T track on top of the light with your own bolts, for almost limitless mounting configurations.
The Photon V2+s are cooled with silent, temperature-controlled fans. The Air moves over the heat-sink and never comes into contact with the internal electronics, keeping all components cool and dry.
The new Photon V2+ includes a wireless hand-held controller that can program multiple Photon V2 units at the same time. You can program the light to change all 6 channels every hour for a sunrise, sunset, and moonlight simulation. Because of the WiFi signal the controller uses, you can even program your lights through a canopy while comfortably seated across the room.
The Photon V2+Â is backed in the USA by our full 2 year warranty, which covers parts, labor, and shipping for the entire fixture and controller, both ways.

This is the best light for mixed reef tank. After installing the light my corals has been doing far better what it used to be before. I will recommend this product to other reef fellows who wants their tanks look stunning. I highly recommend this light.

Great light. The color spectrum and light intensity range are as good as it gets for this price. My tank is 36″ deep and I’ve had issues with getting any sort of good light readings down at that depth with LED’s until now. Programming 6 channels (with a range of 0 -100%) for each hour, 144 individual settings was a bit mind numbing. Although I enjoyed every minute of it and will probably be making adjustments for weeks to come. Certainly a worthwhile purchase.

How much can I write? This light is sweet! When researching lights I was actually able to talk to Logan and he gave me some great advice. So I ordered it Oct-24 and received it October 29th. It was an open-box item and in perfect shape. I had it up and running in very short order. My daughter loves it over the Aquatic Life T5 that was dying on me (she has a 20g reef tank). I found suggested spreadsheets in the FAQs and downloaded the one that programs the day like a sine wave and had my numbers in the light in about 20 minutes, relatively easy. Now I gotta play with my numbers, I’m thinking of a 3:2:1 Blues/White/Red-Green. When I learn to take a decent picture I will post it online, the light has been running 6 days and I love it!

I was looking to upgrade my old AI sol blue led with new lighting as I was not getting coral growth and colors I was hoping for. After a lot of research I went with the Photon 32 v2+. The light is slim and attractive. The controller for these lights took a little getting use to but once figured out it works great. I have had these lights above my tank now for about 2 months and I can definitely see more growth and much more color in my SPS. I have spent the last 2 months slowly ramping the lights up to my desired settings. About a 5 % increase every 5 to 7 days. I am now up to 80% on my blue Chanels 3 ,5 ,6 I believe they are . The only thing I miss over my OLD AI Sol Blues is the Lunar phase that adjusted my lighting to the day and month of each year. BUT the performance of these V2+ lights far outweighs that feature. GREAT light and best price. No need to spend double the price with other name brand lights as these are perfect.

I can’t believe I spent 1000$ on lights that are not controllable via my phone. Why can’t there be an app that makes programming this thing way easier. Not sure how I ever missed the fact that these don’t have that capability, I guess I just assumed for that price it would be there.

I have several of the v2’s and I love them. My coral has been growing like crazy in my mixed reef. Two of them are on my two bedroom tanks and the gentle fade of the program is so much better than the hard change like some of the other ones. I can’t recommend these enough. Will be adding 2 32’s on my new 150 once it sets up
