The latest battery backup (pump extender V2) from Coral Box comes with several improvements, the most notable being it’s compatibility with every Coral Box and Jebao/Jecod pump. In addition to wavemakers and return pumps, these will power your Coral Box Moon LEDs or even other brands of nano LED lights in the event of a power outage. They are compatible with our Reef Power RPM, and even our Exo ATO!
The previous battery backup required one of the Aqualink Adapters to work with most of the newer Coral Box and Jebao pumps. The new version does not require an adapter, and will work with your equipment right out of the box.
These can keep all the critical components of your reef tank running for hours in the event of a power outage. It’s possible to power your lights, return pumps, wavemakers, and ATO with just a bank of small batteries. That means a small tank can be powered completely by battery, and a large tank can keep critical components like the return pump and wavemakers going. They are compatible with nearly every 12v and 24v DC powered product on the market. We have tested and guarantee fitment with several products and will continue to add more to that list!

Simple.
Every Battery Backup includes all the hardware you need to connect it to your gear. Simply mount your battery, and plug in the charger. Use the next port for your pumps power supply, and plug your pump controller into the last port as pictured in the photo gallery. While the power is on, your pump/light/ATO will draw power from the wall like normal. If the power gets cut, the battery will automatically take over until it runs out of charge, or power is restored. These will power one piece of equipment per battery.

This battery is fully DC powered and designed to power your equipment directly. Some battery backups like the UPS systems are designed to power AC systems. Since most pumps and lights already run on DC, converting AC power back to DC power causes an efficiency loss of up to 15%. Because our batteries plug directly into your equipment’s DC input jack they don’t need to convert AC to DC power and you gain more run time as a result.

Excellent Customer Service!!! I checked with my LFS to see if they carried the Coral Box Backup Battery V2 and was told since it was made in China it would be at least several weeks if not longer to get one. I found it on the ReefBreeders website. I went to the contact page and submitted a question to see if there were any in stock. I received a response within 30 minutes confirming it was available. So I ordered the Backup and it arrived in a couple of days. As mentioned in other reviews the instructions are horrible. I submitted another question to verify it was compatible with my wavemaker. I received a response within 20 minutes that included a phone number. I contacted the agent and within 5 minutes he walked me through the installation and emailed me the updated instructions. I am very appreciative of their quick responses and assistance.

It needs longer cables but other than that it has been great.
