What is it?
The ReefBreeders App Integration Kit replaces your Photon Remote with a cloud based wireless app. This allows you to fully control your Photon V2 and V2+ via our ReefBreeders App on your iPhone or Android smartphone. Our app is intuitive, easy to use, and has far more advanced programming capabilities than the default controller. You can control your Photon V2 Pro using your smartphone from anywhere in the world- as long as you are connected to the internet.
The
ReefBreeders App Integration Kit replaces your current controller chip, so you will no longer be using the included remote to control your light. All control functions will be handled via our ReefBreeders App.
How Does it Work?
The
ReefBreeders App Interface includes everything you need to get started- all that is required is 2.4Ghz home network connected to the internet, and an iOS or Android smartphone or tablet. Once you install the kit and connect your light to the internet, it is fully controlled via the ReefBreeders App.
Will this work with Multiple Photon V2/V2+ Lights?
Absolutely, however you will need one
ReefBreeders App Integration kit per Photon V2/V2+. Once each light has the
ReefBreeders App Integration kit installed, you can group them together in the app, or program them individually if they are on separate tanks.
Is my light Compatible?
Any of our Photon V2 or Photon V2+ lights can easily be upgraded to the V2 Pro. They’re also compatible with the IT5040, IT5060, IT5080, and IT5012. Legacy lights like the Photon V1, V1 W, SuperLux, and Value fixtures are not compatible. If you are unsure on your light model just reach out to us and we will help you determine your lights compatibility. If your light was purchased new anytime after January of 2016 there is a good chance it’s a V2. V2/V2+ Photon V2 and V2+ will have 6 control channels, and a wireless remote with an LCD screen.

- New black powder-coated aluminum side-plate to fit the LED indicator and antenna (protrudes less than 1/4" from the light- and is about the thickness of a credit-card)

Simple to set up with their YouTube video. Connected right away, much better than using the controller.
Easy installation with great directions. Great product and really enjoy ease of app!
I emailed in to the company because I had purchased a second hand light that I discovered, could not be reset because the reset button has been broken off. So therefore I couldn't connect it to the app or get it to work at all. They actually called me within 15 min of me sending in the email and walked me through some things to try and then when that didn't work let me know a new board would be needed. I did get the used light for a steal so even with the added price of a new board, it was still less than new. They were sold out online but because I had a light that wasn't working they offered me one of the few they had on reserve for "emergency situations" .. Shipped it same day, had it in 3. 5 Star customer service!!! I will be looking at reef breeders for all future light purchases, the app is easy to use and LOVE the manual mode I can flip on white lights for just 15 min to take photos of the corals and then it refers back to my settings. What a smart idea!!
Great upgrade for any of the V2 lights. seemless integration and control over various lighting schedules and options. The community feature is great seeing others schedules. I will be purchasing a couple more.
Received my kit within a week of ordering. Was able to install in about 15min with help from a YouTube video.
Setup was pretty simple once you get the wifi figured out.
Overall very satisfied. The only request I have is for a way to preview hour to hour settings on the app like you do with the manual remote,l.
