Return and Refund Policy

Order Cancellations

  • Orders cancelled prior to shipment are subject to a 15% cancellation fee.
  • Orders cannot be cancelled after they have shipped.
  • Refunds for cancelled orders will be issued via the original payment method, excluding any shipping costs or non-recoverable merchant processing fees.

Returns – Unopened & Unused Items

  • Returns for unopened, unused products are accepted within 15 days of the order date.
  • A 20% restocking fee applies.
  • Items must be in original, unopened retail packaging, with all packing materials and manuals included. The retail box must be protected with a secondary shipping carton.
  • Prepaid return labels are available upon request; the cost of the label will be deducted from your refund.
  • Alternatively, customers may use their preferred shipping carrier to return items to the address listed below.
  • 🚚 Please Note: Shipping charges are non-refundable, including the shipping cost incurred by Reef Breeders LLC for any order that qualified for free shipping. Free shipping is extended as a courtesy and is contingent on the customer retaining their order. If returned, our original shipping cost will be deducted from your refund.

Returns – Opened, Lightly Used Items in Good Condition

Returns of lightly used items in good, resellable condition are accepted within 30 days of the original purchase date. Products must meet the following criteria:

  • Used Lights: Subject to a 25% restocking fee.
  • Return Pumps, Protein Skimmers, and Wave Makers: Subject to a 30% restocking fee.
  • Items must be clean and in near-new condition. For pumps, this includes a vinegar bath, rinse with RO water, and thorough drying. For other products, clean with a damp microfiber cloth.
  • Items must be returned with original retail packaging and most of the original manuals/materials, packaged inside a protective outer carton.
  • Prepaid return labels can be issued upon request; the cost will be deducted from your refund.

Refunds

  • Processing Time: Refunds are processed within 1–5 business days of receiving and inspecting your return. It may take additional time for your bank to reflect the refund.
  • Refund Method: Issued to the original payment method used at checkout.
  • Refund Limitations: Returns or refunds are not accepted after 30 days from the delivery date. Reconditioned or clearance items are final sale and may not be eligible for return.
  • Order Errors: If you entered incorrect shipping details, please contact us immediately. We are unable to make changes once an order has shipped.

Exchanges & Further Information

We offer exchanges within 15 days of the original purchase date, under the following conditions:

• Unopened items are subject to a 5% restocking fee.
• Opened items are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
• Customers are responsible for all shipping costs, including returning the original item and shipping the replacement.
• Items must be returned in original condition, with all packaging and manuals included.
• If the replacement item is of greater value, the customer must pay the difference.
• If the replacement item is of lesser value, the difference will be issued as store credit.

Product Condition Assessment

Returned items are subject to inspection by our team. All determinations regarding item condition, refund eligibility, and restocking fees are made at the sole discretion of Reef Breeders LLC. Items returned in a condition inconsistent with the guidelines above may be rejected or subject to higher fees.
