The Meridian is more than just a light. It is a complete lighting system designed for reliability, adaptability, and long-term performance. Every aspect has been engineered to provide optimal results while maintaining the flexibility needed for evolving reef setups.
At its core the Meridian delivers a refined spectrum that includes 440nm indigo LEDs. This wavelength is rarely found in aquarium lighting, yet it plays a critical role in coral health. The Meridian provides an extended violet range from 400nm to 440nm, ensuring corals receive the essential wavelengths that drive growth, coloration, and overall vitality.
The Meridian is one of the most modular and expandable lights available. It supports multiple units and Edge bars on a single power supply, allowing for up to 600 watts of combined output while reducing the number of required outlets. This design maximizes efficiency without sacrificing performance, making it easier to manage power distribution in complex reef systems.
Installation is designed for maximum flexibility. The Meridian can be suspended, mounted to the back or sides of the tank, or integrated into a T-track system for a secure and customizable setup. The Integrated Connection System allows seamless end-to-end linking, while Edge Articulating Mounts enable precise adjustments for optimal coverage.
Optics are another defining feature of the Meridian. The Ocular Holo Matrix system provides three distinct spread patterns, with additional options in development. These interchangeable optics allow users to fine-tune light distribution based on tank depth, coral placement, and aqua-scape structure.
Control is intuitive and adaptable. The ReefBreeders app provides cloud-based access via WiFi, Bluetooth enables direct local adjustments, and the optional Manual Controller offers intuitive on-device control. Users can control power, adjust spectrum settings, and program timed lighting cycles, including smooth sunrise and sunset transitions.
Designed for longevity, the Meridian is built with a long-term commitment to support and parts availability. Whether upgrading from an older system or starting fresh, the Meridian provides a lighting solution that is powerful, adaptable, and built to meet the demands of serious reef keepers.

This is the best bang for your buck lighting solution on the market. The only thing I will say is I think the stated coverage area with the standard lenses is overstated. I am using the 24 on a 36 inch tank (which is the recommendation) and the par drop off from the center of the lights to the edges of the light fixture is significant (4-5x more in center then edge of lights only 1 foot in either direction). I will be trying out the encompass lenses. Otherwise I would say go with the same size light as your tank length and don't listen to the recommendation. If I could do it over again I would probably just get the Meridian 35 Bundle
Hi Spencer,
Thank you for the honest review and for sharing your experience! We’re glad to hear you’re finding value in the fixture overall.
You bring up a great point about PAR distribution. Our size recommendations are based on a mixed reef setup, which typically places lower light LPS and soft corals toward the edges, with higher demand SPS towards the center. That said, every tank is a bit different, and we totally understand how preferences for full edge intensity or a more uniform PAR profile may call for a larger fixture or different optics.
The Encompass lenses you mentioned are a great option to help broaden the light spread and smooth out hot spots. Raising the fixture a bit higher can also help even things out across the tank width without sacrificing too much PAR.
We really appreciate your thoughtful input, it's feedback like yours that helps others find the best fit for their setup. If you ever decide to upgrade to the Meridian 35 Bundle, we’ll be here to help make that transition easy!
Thanks again for your support and for reefing with us.
