420nm Violet: Chosen for their unique ability to make coral colors pop and their close proximity to Chlorophyll a’s maximum absorption peak, our Photon V2+ has more violets than any other light on the market.

450nm Royal Blue: Cree 5watt XT-E Royal Blues were selected for their efficiency and and power. They provide unbelievable shimmer and glow along with a ton of light your corals use for growth. 

480nm Cool Blue: Cree 3watt XP-E Cool Blues were selected for their quality and efficiency. Cool Blue is used by accessory proteins to Chlorophyll to help create more light your corals can use for growth, revealing additional coral colors in the process.

520nm Green: Greens are very useful for tweaking the overall color of your light. You can adjust the color tone and perceived brightness of your light with ease by changing the intensity of the green LEDs.

660nm Deep Red: 3watt Osram LEDs add some red light, which is absorbed by chlorophyll a and used by your corals for growth. The reds are also useful for changing the color tone of your light’s output.

5500K Neutral White: Cree 5watt XT-E Neutral Whites were selected for their high CRI and efficiency. We use high Kelvin Neutral whites for their crisp color tone and broad full-spectrum output. They are similar in color to the sun at the water’s surface.

Our lights are powered by 5 watt Cree XT-Es, 3 watt Cree XP-E, and 3 watt Osram and Semi LED chips. Cree sets the industry standard in semiconductor chips and manufactures LEDs renowned for their high efficiency and long lifespan. Osram and Semi are well known for their variety of available colors as well as their quality and efficiency.

Our lights are assembled in a clean room using SMT (Surface Mount Technology) for unmatched reliability and extended diode lifespan.

There is no AC power inside the light- everything is powered by an external UL listed DC Power Supply.

We combine our LEDs with precision engineered 100 Degree Optics to provide the perfect balance of light blending, spread, and power. The LEDs are kept cool by an integrated heat sink with temperature-controlled, whisper-silent cooling fans onboard.

Our proprietary wireless controllers have individual color control, sunrise, sunset, moonlight, and thunderstorm functionality onboard. Preset modes and custom daily programming are built in, and multiple lights sync to one remote out of the box with no additional setup required.

Every Photon V2+ includes a fully featured hand-held wireless controller with an LCD screen and touch-sensitive buttons. The controllers use rechargeable lithium ion batteries which last up to 3 months per charge and include a charging cable.

Whether you have a rimless tank or traditional trim, our lights seamlessly integrate with your aquarium. Every Photon V2 includes hanging cables and mounting legs. Internal T-tracks are built in for endless hardware options, including T-5 and LED supplement add-ons and more. The optional BOT mounts pictured here offer a seamless look for rimless aquariums or conventional tank trims up to 1.5″ thick. 

The PAR test was performed on a custom built rig (my invention) using Apogee MQ-500 quantum meter. All tests were performed out of the water as this is how Apogee recommends using their original PAR sensor. PAR measurements taken in the air read higher than those taken underwater, because of the so-called immersion effect, and therefore my results should be divided by 1.08 for the actual PAR reading you would expect when the sensor is immersed in saltwater.

Our Photon V2+ has a sleek aluminum construction with a profile of less than 1″ (25mm). The removable Color-Stripe  on the front and back allows you to personalize your light’s color with ease. The Photon V2+ is available in multiple lengths to match your aquarium. Our innovative Dispersed Matrix LED pattern generates exceptionally even PAR distribution. Every light has only 1 9’ power cord to the AC/DC adapter, and 6′ to the wall.

The all new Photon Apex Interface allows you to fully control your Photon V2 and V2+ via the Neptune Apex 0-10v Variable Dimming Module (VDM). This allows you to add a variety of control schemes that are more advanced than the default controller. You can now control your Photon V2+ using your phone, computer, or on the fly using the Apex Fusion dashboard! (Available as a separate upgrade).
